If you are a fan of games such as Magic: The Gathering or the incredibly popular Hearthstone, there is a turn-based collectible card game (CCG) coming exclusively called Dragon Front for the Oculus Rift that is sure to get you excited.
According to an official Oculus blog post, Dragon Front is a new title developed by High Voltage and produced in-house by the Oculus Studio team. The game will combine traditional high fantasy elements with dieselpunk visuals for an immersive, “one-of-kind” experience.
Oculus founder, Palmer Luckey recently sent a tweet teasing about a possible upcoming game comparable to the Virtual World arc in Yu-Gi-Oh, which at the time fans did not know exactly what to make of it until now.
Online play is a huge part of Dragon Front, with players pitted against competitors from around the world based on their skill level and other factors. Not only do they get to play their cards to see if they can beat their opponent, but also watch their units come to life on the battlefield as they command the action. Dragon Front is said to feature, “280 characters, 80 different encampments, and more than 100 spells” players can use.
With the popularity of turn-based style collectible card games, it appears that Oculus is on the right track with Dragon Front to bring those game elements to a virtual reality audience. Dragon Front is slated for a release within the first half of 2016.
