First Oculus Rift Units Begin Shipping to Customers
Today, Oculus has achieved a new major milestone after nearly four years leading up to this moment by finally shipping the consumer version of the Oculus Rift headset to early adopters.
Oculus CEO Brendan Iribe confirmed via Twitter earlier a photo of a boxed Oculus Rift bundle to signify the momentous occasion, saying deliveries should begin arriving to customers on Monday, March 28th.

For some people, this is simply the start of the Oculus journey. However, for those who have been following the company and its progress for a long time, this marks the culmination of years of anticipation, dedication, and support. Those who were part of the 2012 Kickstarter campaign will remember helping raise nearly $2.5 million to kick off the VR revolution, and it’s amazing how far Oculus has come.
If you want to pre-order the consumer version of the Oculus Rift headset, you can still place an order today on the official Oculus website, but unfortunately, you’ll have to wait until July to get your hands on one.
