New Details on Gear VR Coming to Oculus Connect 2, says Carmack
At last week’s unveiling of Samsung’s Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ during the ‘Unpacked’ press event in New York, many fans anticipated the electronic giant would have offered some new details related to its upcoming consumer Gear VR mobile headset. However, unfortunately, nothing was yet to be confirmed.
Now, according to recent tweets from Oculus CTO, John Carmack, it looks like we can get ready for some new exciting updates on the latest mobile VR platform at next month’s Oculus Connect 2 developer conference.
If you are considering buying a phone for VR, you might want to hold off until after Oculus Connect for relevant information.

Interestingly, Carmack’s statement almost seems to suggest the possibility of a phone other than the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ that could potentially support the consumer Gear VR—If so, could we perhaps see a dedicated mobile device specifically developed for VR?…For now, will just have to wait and see.
Lots of GearVR announcements coming at Oculus Connect.
