At this month’s 2015 Tribeca Film Festival in New York City, Oculus Story Studio, a new in-house film division of Oculus VR, will be showcasing its first animated short VR film called, Lost, which debuted during the 2015 Sundance Film Festival earlier in the year.

Lost, directed by creative director and former Pixar animator Saschka Unseld, takes viewers on a journey through a dark, moonlit forest where they encounter an unexpected creature. The four-minute short film runs on the latest Oculus Rift prototype, Crescent Bay, and allows viewers to experience cinema storytelling in an entirely new, and immersive way.

This is just the beginning for VR storytelling. Oculus Story Studio is currently working on a number of other VR film projects, however, no official word on when they are planned for a full release.

The 2015 Tribeca Film Festival is set to run through April 15-26th. For more details, click here to check out the event website.
