The latest addition to the Oculus VR dream team is Google Glass lead electrical engineer Adrian Wong. TechCrunch recently noticed Wongs’ LinkedIn profile updated as an Oculus VR employee, and goes on to currently describe his job position as “Building the Metaverse.”

On May 2, Wong announced his last day at Google by posting on his Facebook account, “#FreshStartFridays – Surprise! Today is my last day at Google. Three rollercoaster years with Google[x] and Glass. What amazing memories. Now, time for the next great adventure!”

Wong had been working at Google since December 2010 on both Google Glass Explorer and Consumer editions. His job role consisted of end-to-end rapid prototyping, display subsystem design, and architecture, including research and development in custom display architectures and sensors. Wong’s experience will help bring tremendous value to Oculus, as the development of the Oculus Rift continues to improve and expand its capabilities.

Earlier this week Oculus hired former 343 Industries founding member and art director Kenneth Scott, who will head as Oculus Art Director to build first-party content for the Oculus Rift. Recent top talent hired by Oculus also includes former Valve VR developers Aaron Nicholls, Atman Binstock as its Chief Architect, and Michael Abrash as its Chief Scientist.

No word yet on Wong’s official new role at Oculus VR. Stay tuned for more developments.
