'Oculus Ready' PC Rift Bundles Available for Pre-Order Feb 16th

Last month when Oculus announced its consumer version of the Rift virtual reality headset priced at $599, the company also promised to make it simple to get everything you need to jump into virtual reality by offering a complete ready-to-go VR package that would bundle the Oculus Rift headset with a PC that has been certified as ‘Oculus Ready.’

Oculus today revealed details of the first line of ‘Oculus Ready’ PCs from Asus, Alienware, and Dell that will be available for pre-order at Best Buy, Amazon, and the Microsoft Store on February 16th at 11am EST starting at $1,499. for “limited time only.” For those who purchase them bundled with the Rift will get $100 to $200 discount off the MSRP price of the PCs.

“These PCs have been battle tested and certified by Oculus to deliver an incredible Rift experience,” the Oculus team wrote in a blog post.

Asus Oculus Ready PCs
  • Asus G11CD: Intel Core i5-6400, Nvidia GeForce GTX 970, 8GB of DDR4 RAM, 1TB hard drive—$1,049, or $949 special offer bundled with the Oculus Rift headset
  • Asus ROG G20CB (model 1): Intel Core i5-6400, GTX 970, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, 512GB SSD—$1,449, or $1,349 special offer bundled with the Oculus Rift headset
  • Asus ROG G20CB (model 2): Intel Core i7-6700, GTX 980, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, 256GB SSD, 1TB hard drive—$1,699, or $1,599 special offer bundled with the Oculus Rift headset
Alienware Oculus Ready PCs
  • Alienware Area 51: Intel Core i7-5820K, GTX 980, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, 128GB SSD, 2TB hard drive—$2,549, or $999 special offer bundled with the Oculus Rift headset
  • Alienware X51 R3 (model 1): Intel Core i5-6400, GeForce GTX 970, 8GB of DDR4 RAM, 1TB hard drive—$1,199, or $999 special offer bundled with the Oculus Rift headset
  • Alienware X51 R3 (model 2): Intel Core i5-6400, GeForce GTX 980, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, 256GB SSD—$1,499, or $1,299 special offer bundled with the Oculus Rift headset
Dell Oculus Ready PCs
  • Dell XPS 8900 SE: Intel Core i5-6400, GTX 970, 8GB of DDR4 RAM, 1TB hard drive—$1,199, or $999 special offer bundled with the Oculus Rift headset

According to Oculus, the PC and Rift bundles will ship from retail partners “in limited quantities” starting in April. Those who have already pre-ordered the Rift from “select countries and regions” will be able to get a discount on an ‘Oculus Ready’ PC. To claim the discount, you can check your order status and opt into partner offers to see an offer code appear on your order status page Feb. 16th.
